Terms of Use

Last updated: April 16, 2026

Welcome

ThumbThru is operated by ThumbThru LLC, a Utah limited liability company. By using ThumbThru - whether on the web, through our mobile app, or through a shared link - you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, that's OK, but please don't use the service.

What ThumbThru Does

ThumbThru provides AI-generated content assessments for books. These assessments estimate the type and intensity of content like language, violence, romance, substances, and mature themes. They are not ratings, recommendations, or endorsements. They are informational tools to help you make your own decisions.

Accuracy

Our assessments are generated by AI based on publicly available information about each book - reviews, summaries, discussions, and similar sources. They are estimates, not guarantees. We do our best to be accurate, but we can't promise perfection. If you spot something that looks wrong, we encourage you to submit a correction. Community input is what makes ThumbThru better over time.

Your Account

You can use ThumbThru without an account. Creating a free standard account gives you access to additional features like family profiles, content preferences, reading lists, and the ability to submit corrections. You're responsible for keeping your Google sign-in credentials secure. If someone else accesses ThumbThru through your account, that's on you.

Acceptable Use

Use ThumbThru for its intended purpose - looking up books and managing reading lists. Don't use it to scrape data, spam our API, reverse-engineer the service, or do anything that would degrade the experience for other users. We reserve the right to suspend access for anyone who abuses the service.

User Contributions

When you submit corrections, ratings, or reading lists, you retain ownership of that content. However, by submitting it, you grant ThumbThru a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and incorporate that content into the service. Corrections you submit may be used to improve assessments that other users see. Reading lists you share via link are publicly accessible to anyone with that link.

Reading Lists and Sharing

When you create a reading list and share it, anyone with the link can view it. You can delete a list at any time, which removes it for everyone. Deleting a shared list does not remove any book bookmarks that other users may have saved individually from that list.

Amazon Affiliate Links

ThumbThru may include links to Amazon.com. These are affiliate links, meaning ThumbThru may earn a small commission if you make a purchase through them. This doesn't affect the price you pay. We only link to books you're already looking at - we don't promote products or let anyone pay for placement.

Intellectual Property

ThumbThru's design, code, and AI-generated assessments are the property of ThumbThru LLC. Book titles, author names, and cover images belong to their respective publishers and rights holders. ThumbThru uses this information under fair use for the purpose of commentary and informational reference.

Limitation of Liability

ThumbThru is provided "as is." We don't warrant that assessments are complete or error-free. We are not liable for any decisions you make based on ThumbThru's content. Use your own judgment - ThumbThru is a starting point, not the final word on any book's content.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of ThumbThru after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.

Termination

You can stop using ThumbThru at any time. We can suspend or terminate access to anyone who violates these terms. If your account is terminated, your personal data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Utah County, Utah.
